Lionel Binet
Born in Chamonix in1978, he started at the Ski Club at the age of 2 as most of the youngsters in the valley. After that he focused on cross-country skiing and was successful at a high level for 10 years.
At the time he was skating with Bab's and his friends in Cham and it was in 1988 when his father found him a snowboard. He began to ride the great spots of Chamonix and gradually participated in various competitions of half pipe and big air.
But with a playground like Chamonix with its high alpine mountains, the freeride and powder attracted him quickly.
With a father passionate for mountains, he had the chance to be taken out for adventures from an early age together with his brother to discover the great playgrounds of the Mont-Blanc massif. They were always looking for the best slopes to ride in the valley of Chamonix and later also in Patagonia.
In 2010 he achieved his "SSBS" diploma - a course in Switzerland, specifically designed to become a snowboard instructor - where he was promoted as best snowboard instructor with the best technique. This allows him to teach snowboarding, share his passion and discover the Chamonix Valley.
His passion for snow, mountains and mountain bike are equal to his passion for skating and surfing in summer.
